Working at APOYO is just plain fun. You can feel good helping our friends and neighbors, meet other wonderful people, and work under the supervision of folks who genuinely need and appreciate everything you do!
Many of our clients speak Spanish and English, and if you would like to get to know them, their language and their culture, just stick around! It's like study abroad without the plane fare!
If you need community service hours, we welcome your help! All you need to do is stop by during one of our distributions, bring your paperwork, and get signed in. We can offer you about six hours a week, during regular distributions, or if you need more, we can arrange it. We always need help!
We open for distribution on Wednesdays at 6:00 pm and Saturdays at 1:00 pm. We ask volunteers to show up about a half hour early for these distributions and plan on staying about a half hour after. We also need help unloading our truck from Northwest Harvest every Wednesday at around noon. Please phone 509-929-4112 to make arrangements. Or you can email us at email@example.com.
Our warehouse is located on the campus of Central Washington University at the corner of Brook Lane and East 18th Avenue. We are across the street from the entrance to Brooklane Village Apartments and McElroy Park, just east of the CWU Challenge course. Just go to the end of 18th Avenue and turn right. If you need a map, please see our inset map below. If you get lost, call us at 509-929-4112.
Our warehouse can be a drafty place in winter and pretty hot in summer, so dress accordingly. Wear clothes that can be easily washed. And you will need to wear a mask and have your temperature taken when you arrive. If you don't have a mask, we will give you one. We try to provide a friendly casual working environment, but there are some policies and procedures you need to know about. We would really appreciate it if you took a look at them before you come!
